When it boils down to it, I'm an immersion kind of guy. I really enjoy getting into character and thinking about things from a different perspective. So with that in mind, let's take a look at some of the mods I feel boost immersion the most in Fallout 4 -- and are close to always in my load order.

Ever thought that the vanilla vendor stalls just felt empty or lacking? I mean, aside from slight visual differences, they all felt samey.

It also populates the higher-end stalls with higher quality items to reflect its store level.

The 7 Immersion Mods That Have a Permanent Place In My Fallout 4 Load Mod List

It's a minor mod but to me, it's all about those little details, especially since I really enjoy the settlement building aspect of Fallout 4. I also tend to spend a lot of time with setting up my settlements to look busier and more populated, so this mod is a big plus for me.

It's really immersion breaking, and kinda' stupid, to walk into a settlement that you own and have a random farmer say something like, "Oh, you have a dangerous look about you. Hope you're not here for me. No, I'm not here for you -- I own this place. This mod helps to regulate some of those annoying lines based on your game progression choices and standings with various factions. This is a really simple mod that extends the life of spent bullet casings and increases the area in which you can see them.

Now, that might not seem like much of a mod, but don't knock it until you try it. It makes the aftermath of a shootout look glorious. Spent casings litter the ground -- some still rolling down uneven terrain.

It shows you just how awesome the battles are by being able to see all of the spent casings surrounding all the bodies you just stacked like a boss. Now, if only there was a mod so that you could smell that sweet gunpowder odor after going cyclic with the minigun In addition, it also makes it take longer for bullet holes to "heal" and disappear.

These two mods together just make battles look glorious -- and like an actual fight went down. It's the little details that matter. If you're someone who has never held a weapon for a long time, you might not know that you're only ever pointing your weapon forward or at your target for generally as long as you're firing in that direction.

Guns are heavy blokes and your arms wouldn't be able to maintain a "fire-ready" position for long.

So this makes things a lot more realistic. It also has some storage ability and houses some camping gear, which is greatly useful with survival mode's save system.

It makes sense that there would be some of these smaller vehicles that could be repaired or at least made somewhat functional for quicker travel. The added benefits help out in survival mode, where you have more needs and your carrying capacity is limited. Ever notice how even the most useless scraps of stuff in Fallout 4 had some sort of use? This mod adds in junk that is truly junk -- it is actually worthless in every sense of the word.

Isn't it weird that, after all these years following the great fallout, there's all this stuff and none of it is totally busted?

You mean to tell me that this toaster, that has sat here for over years, is still functional? Well, this mod fixes that. A small immersion builder, Worthless Mod makes me enjoy the game that much more by realistically making things worthless.

Hopefully, some of these mods are new to you and you can enjoy them for the first time, seeing how they really change up the game, if only a little bit. Hardware Graphics Cards Peripherals Components.Another addition to the ever-ambitious Capital Wasteland Projectthis mod adds the classic metal armor from Fallout 3 and New Vegas to the game.

If you find yourself missing Fallout 3, or just want your attire to have more of that spiky, old-Fallout feel, then this is the mod for you. The metal armor comes with four different under-armor options, including the Vault Suit as well as leather and metal attire. You also have the choice of two different helmet options. The armors come in differing strength levels, with you being able to craft the most basic version in the utility section of Chem stations.

A sizable portion of Fallout 4 modders are dedicated to nice-ifying the Wasteland in what could be considered a virtual conservation effort, and this mod is no different. It skims out unsightly trash textures from ponds and streams, replacing it with high quality lily pads.

This is particularly useful if you like your settlements near watery areas, like Spectacle Island or Dalton Farm. It also has an optional pond scum remover, just in case you want your streams to look crystal clear.

Stealthy Takedowns lets you get the sneak on non-essential NPCs, be they human, synth, or ghoul, and execute a swift and silent stealth kill. The mod brings a breathtaking new map to the world, filled with lush greenery and a menagerie of exotic by which we mean non-mutated wildlife.

Do you ever get tired of how long it takes to scrap everything in your settlements just so you can build on them? Then look no further than Raze My Settlementa mod that bypasses all of that running around and lets you get rid of all the junk in one fell swoop.

Best New Sims 4 Mods of September To Top.While many people prefer the squishier-looking design ghouls received in Fallout 4, some yearn for the good old days of tough sinew and missing skin.

This mod replaces the current feral ghouls with upgraded versions of the substantially scarier ghouls of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. As part of the Capital Wasteland Projectall feral ghouls in the vanilla game, even Glowing Ones, have been given a makeover in the style of the older games. The mod also adds classic Fallout 3 ghoul clothing, as little of it as there is. With 2K textures, these new ferals are extremely detailed.

The ghouls are also completely dismember-able so you can have fun bl owing off their limbs and watching them fly off into the distance.

Sometimes you just want a break from all the chaos of the wasteland.

Supposedly not as affected by the blast as nearby locations, Camp Escape sits near Lake Cochituate and has been preserved and repaired about as much as it can be by robot staff. To get there you simply catch a bus that you can find at the South-Eastern part of the Commonwealth map. Mika explains that it will eventually be updated with new areas, NPCs, and quests. The Automatron DLC added a whole host of new robotic foes to the Commonwealth, but have you ever felt that the added Mechanist and Rust Devil robots were a bit… samey?

Automatron Randomized Bots changes all that, adding in randomization to not just the level range of the robots you come across, but the types of weapons they use and even their appearance.

Robots can now carry plasma weapons, with sentries having a full variety of back-mounted grenade weapons and basic Protectrons being able to use cryo and flamer hands.

The same goes for your own robots too, as the mod adds a couple of new weapons that you can equip your bots with. If you ever thought it was odd that the Rust Devil robots being made by the crafty, graffiti-loving raiders all have the same uniform look, the mod changes that, and Rust Devil bots can now appear in any color, however wacky. You can add a cooldown timer, control the maximum number of queued quests, and even disable them completely. For example, if you turn down Taking Independence there will be a delay of an in-game hour before he asks again, letting you talk to him normally in the meantime.

This mod by kinggath gives you a completely new way to create settlements by introducing a SimCity like system: zone your settlements for residential, commercial, industrial, and farmland, and your settlers will build their own homes and stores and farm their own crops.

Your settlement will grow on its own as NPCs make changes and improvements to their buildings without you having to micromanage them or place every last stick of furniture yourself. Here's a write-up on this imaginative and wonderful mod. If you build a cool settlement, why not share it?

This mod allows you to package up any settlement as a blueprint and transfer it to a different save game or even upload it and share it with other players. You can even choose to pack up livestock, tamed creatures, power connections, and even Sim Settlements plots. It's a Vertibird you can live in. It's doesn't technically fly—its movement is more akin to fast-travel—but you can plant craftable landing zones around the world and move your Vertibird to them. The living quarters are small, and the 'bird needs to be fed a supply of coolant, but it's a sweet-looking home with a customized crafting bench and mounted turrets to keep the neighbors away.

Adding much more flexibility and freedom to your settlements, Place Everywhere lets you move previously static objects like workshop benches and put them wherever you like. You can also build anywhere on your settlement—in trees, in the water, and even inside other objects. Red collision warnings are a thing of the past. Requires the Fallout Script Extender, which you'll find on the final page of this list.

Tired of carrying all the junk you find in the world all the way back to your settlements? This mod gets your settlers to lend a hand. Craft salvage beacons at your chemistry station, and when you're out exploring and your pockets get full, just fill a container with your junk, drop a beacon on it, and your settlers will come and collect everything for you. They'll then place it in your workbench, saving you the trip. With so much focus on building things in Fallout 4, it's surprising Bethesda didn't think of this themselves.

This mod will let you craft your own settlers in your workshop. Synthetic settlers. Switch off your radio beacon, because now you can populate your various outposts with hopefully friendly Synths. DIY just jumped to the next level. Running power lines around your Fallout 4 settlements just got a lot easier with this useful mod created by Daedragon. Since you're building with crummy, rusty metal walls full of holes, or wooden ones that would be a snap to make holes in, why can't you run power lines right through them?

This mod adds conduits you can snap into place on the back of standard ones to allow power lines to pass through your walls. Works with your roof, too.If you're looking to change your gameplay experience with the best Fallout 4 mods available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC then you've come to the right place, as we love a good mod.

There are plenty of ways to customise the post-apocalyptic world to better suit your needs, so if you want to build improbably big settlements, have Dogmeat by your side along with a regular companion, or just make the wasteland look a bit less like The best news is that as well as being available on PC, almost all of these Fallout 4 mods can also be added to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, meaning console players can get involved and are no longer excluded from the customisation party.

There's good reasons why Fallout 4 is one of the best RPG games around, but let's make it even better. Happy modding! Despite the bursts of colour occasionally seen in Fallout 4, you can't deny that eventually you'll get fed up with the dreary yellows and browns of the wasteland.

SimpleSeasons changes all that by turning the apocalyptic world into a feast for the eyes but not the senses, which anyone with hayfever will be happy to hear. These four mods - you don't have to download them all if you don't want to, by the way - will either blanket the wasteland in snow, have lush greenery springing up, turn everything into a haze of oranges and yellows, or create verdant trees that are just beginning to turn yellow.

Now if only there was a photo mode to capture all that beauty Dogmeat is a peculiar companion. This mod allows you to have Dogmeat and another companion simultaneously.

Safety in numbers, right? Because you can't use external assets on the PS4, this mod isn't available for anyone with Sony's console. Bad Sony. Vanilla Fallout 4 has Dogmeat doing dps when he attacks the various nuisances corrupting the wasteland. As anyone with a fondness for the loyal companion will know, that doesn't really seem fair. In case you haven't guessed it yet, Stronger Dogmeat increases his damage to 58dps, making this canine deadly enough to send any raiders fleeing with their tails between their legs.

Forget the weapon crafting limitations of the base game, the Any Mod Any Weapon mod lets your imagination run wild when you're at the workbench. Ever want to shoot cannon balls out of a hand-held revolver, create an electrified mini gun, or shove a Deathclaw's claw onto a boxing glove?

All possible with this mod. Finally, you can do what your mother always told you to and pick up after yourself. The OCDecorator mod enables you to place any object on any other object, so placing weapons and armor on shelves or office fans on desks is no longer a pain in the ass.

Now you can have everything in your settlement neatly organized, locked in place, and perfectly displayed instead of having everything getting knocked over by NPCs and ending up in a pile on the floor. Fallout 4's vanilla settlement editor isn't the best. Walls don't always line up, you get items and furniture that just can't be placed where you want, and you end up with some unsightly gaps in your decorative structures and even worse, defenses.

No more gaps, no more mess. Of course, even if you use the previous two mods to stack objects on top of each other and clip them into otherwise unobtainable places, you'll still eventually run up against the Build Limit for your settlement and have to curb your design plans. Unless you install this mod, that is, as it removes the Build Limit for all settlements - use with caution though, as those limits are there for a reason and you could slow down or crash your game if you go too far.

If you're looking for your weapons to pack a bit more punch, you might want to check out the Legendary Modifications mod. This mod adds a new modification slot to your weapon and armor crafting options, allowing you to include one legendary weapon or armor attribute to your item in exchange for a significant amount of materials.

You can choose from a list of every attribute available in the game, giving you everything you need to make an unstoppable wasteland explorer.

The Craftable Ammo mod adds even more crafting to the expansive build-fest that is Fallout 4, but we have no problem with that. This page contains instructions on how to install mods on the PC version of Fallout 4. I assume it can't because you can't really see anything there, like mods that are still current, although when I launch Nexus, It still produces a list of installed F4 mods. However I don't think these mods are actually installed.

When I check the mode section in game, I downloaded a mod there, and it shows as the only mod in "my mod library". I just went to the game directory, and and only see a single mod installed, which would correspond to me downloading a single mod in-game.

I've got an itch to play this game again from scratch, so how do you manage mods, see which ones are still available and how to load them? Is it as simple as download mods from the mod section of the game and then play? Is mod order important? Last edited by Huntn ; 16 Jul, pm. Showing 1 - 11 of 11 comments. NMM is not abandonware, just nexus started promoting vortex thing.

Im not going to bother too much trying to figure out where you screwed up there, as it just sounds like some sort of horrible uninstall case you took the files out but now wonder why nexus isn't installing the modsso id recommend this time you actually uninstall the mod manager, the game, their respective folders and associated files, and start again.

Clear the fallout 4 documents folder too, if any exists. Download and install mods at will. Originally posted by 30 year old boomer :. Originally posted by Huntn :.

I suppose the moral of the story is to educate yourself about how your chosen mod manager works.
